Welcome to National Eye Health Week 2020. Despite this year’s ‘Week’ looking and feeling a little different from previous campaigns we’re really excited about what’s in store over the coming seven days.

We’ve joined forces with Central Optical Fund again this year to bring you Vista, the official National Eye Health Week magazine. The all new digital only edition of Vista features an interview with our cover star Gary Linkeker and is packed full of advice and information on looking after your eyes. Why not grab a coffee and have a read.

Half of all sight loss is avoidable,* so all this week we’ll be inviting people to use the vision matters eye health calculator to find out if their lifestyle could be putting them at increased risk of unnecessary sight loss.

Global Radio’s Dan Gasser hosts Jo Churchill, Minister for Prevention, Public Health and Primary Care; Dr Louise Gow, Specialist Lead for Eye Health at RNIB and David Cartwright Chairman of Eye Health UK as they highlight why vision matters and what we can do to keep our eyes and vision healthy on the National Eye Health Week Podcast launching later today.

We’ve published a host of free supporter resources  on our website including social media graphics and suggested posts to help you spread the word on eye health. Today’s resources encourage people to be ‘eye aware’; to think about how their lifestyle could be affecting their eye health and to seek advice from their local optical practice if they notice a change in their vision.
